Collaborative Lobbying Leads to Promising Assurances for Minority Rights in Punjab by Inspector General Punjab

A distinguished delegation comprising Mr. Mahinder Paul Singh, Member of the Punjab Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary; Mr. Robinson Aziz, Vice-Chairman of the Minority Advisory Council Punjab; Mr. Kashif Alexander, Advocate High Court and Chairman of The Miracle and Hope Foundation Pakistan; Mr. Kashif Nemat, Advocate High Court; and Mr. Kamran Pervaiz CH, Member of the Narcotics Control Committee Punjab, recently held a meeting with Mr. Inam Ghani, Inspector General of Police Punjab.

The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing challenges faced by minority communities in Punjab. During the session, IGP Inam Ghani expressed his unwavering commitment to upholding minority rights, assuring the delegation of full cooperation. He emphasized the enforcement of superior court judgments related to minority issues and affirmed that concrete, proactive steps would be taken in coordination with the relevant departments to safeguard the rights and well-being of minorities across the province.

On April 2021, Three Christian nurses at Punjab Institute of Mental health Hospital Lahore Pakistan, Jail Road, Lahore, Pakistan namely(1)Mrs. Jessica Khurram(2)Mrs. Treeza Eric(3)Ms. Sakina Methab got falsely accused of insulting Religion.
The Muslim paramedical staff has protested and used abusive and life-threatening language against three Christian nurses. The Christian nurses and their family members are facing severe threats from the Muslim paramedical staff members of Punjab institute of Mental health Hospital Lahore Pakistan.
On April 29, 2021, the Muslim paramedical staff has staged a protest outside the hospital. The Muslim paramedical staff during the protest entered the chapel to close it and created an intense and life-threatening situation.
