Judicial Commission to Investigate the Tragic Jaranwala Incident, Punjab Pakistan


A petition has been filed on behalf of Bishop Azad Marshall Moderator Church Of Pakistan by Kashif Alexander Advocate High Court along with others in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking judicial inquiry into the Jaranwala violent incidents against the local Christian community. A mob of more than 500 people attacked, vandalized multiple churches, and torched homes belonging to the Christians in Jaranwala in Faisalabad district over blasphemy allegations.

 

Earlier a report was submitted in the LHC on behalf of the Punjab chief secretary in response to a previous order of LHC.

On 28.11.2023 during the hearing of the Petition Advocate General Punjab on instruction sought time for reconsideration of the matter without being influenced by the earlier decision of 02.10.2023 by the Government of Punjab i.e. declining the formation of the Judicial Commission.

Lahore High Court adjourned the proceedings till December 21.2023.

The Miracle and Hope Foundation Participates in the Inaugural Ceremony of Pakistan Christian Council International (PCCI) Punjab Chapter

On 26th August 2023, the Legal Team of Miracle and Hope Foundation participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan Christian Council International (PCCI) Punjab Chapter, a momentous event aimed at strengthening the Christian community's voice in the region. The ceremony was graced by the presence of prominent dignitaries, with the Governor of Punjab, Balighur Rehman, serving as the chief guest. The event brought together a diverse group of influential leaders, including Senator Kamran Michael, Bishop Azad Marshal (Moderator/President of the Church of Pakistan), Pastor Anwar Fazal, Colonel Macdonald Chandi of The Salvation Army, and several former Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs), such as Tahir Naveed Chaudhary, Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Tariq Gill, and Shakeel Marks. Other notable attendees included human rights activists, political figures, and legal experts like Nadia Hameed Advocate High Court, and Abisaloom Robin Bhatti Advocate, who all played a vital role in the discussions surrounding the rights, welfare, and empowerment of the Christian community. The gathering provided a platform for fostering unity and collaboration among various stakeholders, aimed at advancing the cause of social justice and human rights, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by religious minorities in Pakistan.
